There’s a lot of great stuff happening at Short Fiction Break. Here’s nine things we’re excited about:
1) On Writing
Starting this week, every Saturday the Short Fiction Break Regular Contributors will share their thoughts, tips, tricks, and insights about writing. Check out these posts if you are interested in learning and discussing the art of writing stories.
2) Writing Prompts
Later this month Short Fiction Break will publish our first ever writing prompt. Keep an eye out. We’re excited to see what stories you create.
3) New Collection of Horror from the SFB Master of Horror
In September, SFB Regular Contributor Derek Ailes partnered with James Coon to produce a fantastic new work of horror – Musings from a Demented Mind. Grab your copy by clicking here.
4) Vick Norton on Display
If you find yourself in Queensland in November, SFB Regular Contributor Victoria Norton has a spoken poem entitled Pied Cormorant on display at the Brisbane Writers Festival. The poem is part of the Bimblebox project which was designed to save 8,000 hectares of virgin rain forest that is home to 153 species of native birds and at risk of extensive mining.
5) Kayla Shown-Dean’s Ferocity

6) Jeff Elkins’ Revolution

7) Growing the SFB Team
We are excited to announce the the SFB Regular Contributor Team is growing. Look this month for posts from our three new team members: David Cook, Emily Summers, and Phillip Town.
8) The One Book is Coming!
Later this month Short Fiction Break will release The One Book. This collection of unpublished short stories from our Regular Contributors celebrates Short Fiction Break’s first year. Watch for announcements about where you can grab your copy!
9) Great News
Finally, we are pleased to announce that long time Regular Contributor Bob Moulesong has stepped up to take the role of Senior Editor. Bob has been contributing to SFB since our inception. He is a gifted writer and editor. We are proud and excited that he has agreed to take the lead. We are looking forward to the new and exciting ways he will enhance this community.
