Mirel Bodner Abeles, a New Yorker transplanted to Jerusalem, is a short story author, novelist, blogger and copy-editor. Derek Ailes is a horror writer from Valparaiso, Indiana. He is known as one half of the Ailes Brothers of Terror. Mark Cusco Ailes is the other demented half. He wrote Zombie Command: A Horror Anthology, Journey Into the Unknown: Deluxe Horror Edition, Catfurnado Zombies and One Killer Doll and Musings From A Demented Mind. David Cook was born in Newcastle, England, and now lives in Bridgend, Wales, with his wife and daughter. He writes comic short fiction – some light and fizzy, some a little darker – and is a Regular Contributor here at Short Fiction Break. Frances Howard-Snyder is a philosophy professor at Western Washington University who teaches and writes on ethics and philosophy of religion. She has published stories at Wordhaus, Everyday Fiction, OxMag, Whatcom Writes and Short Fiction Break. When not writing, she loves spending time with her family — including twin boy teenagers, walking, playing chess, travelling and watching Shakespeare.
Jared Hines is from Florida and currently resides there studying English at the University of Central Florida. In his free time, Jared enjoys staring into the distance and pondering life. Here on poetrydiv/ded and Short Fiction Break, Jared writes poetry and short stories.
Alice Nelson is a stay-at-home wife and homeschooling mother of 3 lovely girls. For 5 years she has been a staff writer for the premiere movie review site DVD Verdict. Alice has also been a contributing blogger to the American Thinker website. She has several published short stories, and along with her writing partner Carrie Zylka has started a short story podcast called A Creative Mind. Here she and Carrie share 3 to 5 minute original flash fiction stories.
Victoria Norton is a middle-aged mother and grandmother living in New South Wales, Australia who has worked for 25 years as a mental health nurse. Ann Stanley has been bookworm from the age of six. She writes short stories and novels, and is a regular contributor to shortfictionbreak.com. Two of her short stories will be published in Mosaic, A Story Cartel Compilation in January, 2015. You can occasionally catch her sparkling flute and piccolo spicing up salsa, bossas, and other tropical music in Tropicante, from Bend, OR, or run across her attempting to control her two corgis on one of Central Oregon’s many trails.

Emily Summers Born and raised in Texas, Emily Summers prides herself on being a southern girl. She is an avid reader and hopes to very soon publish a novel of her own. Currently, she is a Biochemistry major and English minor at Texas A&M University. She’s new to Short Fiction Break and is excited to expand her writing through the site. In her free time, Emily enjoys dancing, playing with her turtle, kicking around the soccer ball with her two little sisters, and eating more than the serving suggested amount of cookies with her best friend Alex.
Phil Town is British and works as a teacher (of English) and translator at a law firm in Lisbon. He’s been writing short stories off and on for a long time but has intensified his efforts in the last year through Writers’ Hangout(LinkedIn) and now SFB. Other writing work includes articles on Portuguese football for the British magazine When Saturday Comes, and for his own website dedicated to the same subject. He has an MA in Screenwriting from Bournemouth University, completed in 2012. His passions are writing, cinema, music and football.
