Haiku Wars

January 17, 2016 by Jared Hines 5 Comments

ocean

At night I fight brain
Wars. To bring light I write with
This pen as my sword.

Waves of ink wash my
Warped soul. Rhyming my sentence,
Demons I silence

Through fiery oceans
Of lost kin. I paddle with
This pen as my oar.

Waves pull me back and
Forth. Trapped between living or
Ending my heart’s sore.

Tears on my floor, black
Ink I pour, more and more till
I’m drowned, washed ashore.
